It’s Official Juan Soto and Josh Bell To Padres

Today’s the day! The MLB trade deadline is today and a trade for the decade is set in stone. A few weeks ago Soto turned down a $440 Million 15-year contract with the Nationals with 2 years left before free agency. Since then it’s been a frenzy over him. The Padres have officially come to an agreement with the Nationals to acquire both Juan Soto and Josh Bell in exchange for number of players:

CJ Abrams (SS)
Eric Hosmer (1B)
MacKenzie Gore (LHP)
Luke Voit (1B)
Robert Hassell III (OF Padres #1 prospect)
James Wood (OF #3 prospect)
Jarlin Susana (RHP #14 Prospect)

Soto, 24 in October is a once in a generation-type player and will have an instant impact on the Padres. Bell (a free agent after this season) has improved defensively and his bat has really come alive this season with a slash line of .301/.384/.493. With the addition of Soto and Bell, the Padres will have a stacked middle lineup with Machado, and a healthy Tatis Jr.
