Albert Pujols passed Stan Musial in extra base hits on Monday night, hitting number 1,378! He is now in third place with only Barry Bonds (1,440 extra-base hits) and Hank Aaron (1,477 extra-base hits) ahead of him.

Pujols, 42, plans to retire at the end of this season after 22 years. He’ll undoubtedly be inducted in the Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible in 5 years. He has a career batting average of .296, 3,331 hits, 685 home runs, 2,170 RBIs and 1,886 runs scored. He has won 2 Gold Glove awards, 3 MVP awards, the Rookie of the Year award, 6 Silver Slugger awards, 1 League Championship MVP award and 2 World Series.

“The Machine” has been confirmed to compete in the Homerun Derby set for next Monday July 18th at 8 PM EST and will play in the MLB All-Star Game Tuesday July 19th at 8 PM EST.
